A primary goal of The William H. McGannon Foundation is to create, manage and build endowment funds. Most donations are therefore held as endowment capital, and grant amounts are controlled to protect the long-term value of the fund and the grants that will be derived therefrom in the future.

2016 Calgary RIMS Canada Conference
The McGannon Foundation held an event in Calgary during the RIMS Canada Conference in order to celebrate inspiration of the Foundation’s founding father, William H. McGannon, and to recognize their McGannon Foundation Donors and Supporters. Wine and cheese was enjoyed by all as Marley Drainville recognized and thanked all of McGannon’s supporters for their kind and generous support and commitment to the work of the Foundation. McGannon President Joe Restoule presented the Class of 2016 attendees in the Student Involvement Program, shared his fond memories of Bill with the attendees and reiterated the purpose of the Foundation…to provide education, work experience and research opportunities to students of Risk Management.

Several Canadian RIMS chapters have been using their annual Golf Tournaments as fundraisers for the Foundation and other charities. SARIMS and NARIMS have made substantial contributions to the Foundation over the past number of years though this method. If any other chapter or organization wishes to raise funds in this manner we would be more than happy to assist with the event organization.
